Tre Notti d'amore (1964): Opening Sequence

"Tre Notti d'amore" (or as I like to call it, "The Catherine Spaak Show") is a beautifully-filmed, large-scale omnibus film comprised of three segments directed by Renato Castellani, Luigi Comencini, and Franco Rossi. On the cusp of her career peak, this project was designed as a vehicle for Spaak to demonstrate her versatility and nuance as an actress in portraying three different women, each exhibiting a different set of costumes and hair styles.

One of the best parts of the film is the opening sequence: a sixties fashion magazine shoot in motion, with one composition after another of Spaak in a room with colorful large-scale rectangular cut-outs, sporting a number of the film's costumes (designed by the brilliant Oscar-winner Piero Gherardi) and set to the film's principle production credits with a swinging Piero Piccioni theme.
